Why Acton-Boxborough, Why Now

The Acton-Boxborough Regional School District is entering an exciting and pivotal chapter in its history. Building on a longstanding tradition of academic excellence, exceptional educators, engaged families, and strong community support, the district has recently completed one of the most significant organizational transformations in its history through the successful implementation of its elementary reconfiguration. This work has strengthened educational opportunities, improved operational efficiency, and positioned the district for long-term success.

The next Superintendent will have the opportunity to build on this momentum by advancing innovative teaching and learning initiatives, including expanded STEM opportunities, strengthening instructional practices, and enhancing student experiences across all grade levels. Supported by a strong, stable, and experienced leadership team with deep institutional knowledge and a collaborative culture, the Superintendent will inherit an organization committed to continuous improvement and student success.

Like school districts across Massachusetts, Acton-Boxborough faces the financial realities of rising operational costs, increasing special education and transportation expenditures, and constrained public funding. The next Superintendent will work collaboratively with the School Committee, municipal partners, educators, families, and the broader community to preserve the district's tradition of excellence while ensuring long-term fiscal sustainability.

The Superintendent will join a community that values thoughtful leadership, transparency, collaboration, and innovation. For a leader who is passionate about public education, committed to academic excellence and educational opportunity, and inspired by bringing people together around a shared vision, Acton-Boxborough offers an exceptional opportunity to lead one of Massachusetts' premier public school districts at a moment of tremendous promise and possibility.
